After 500 mile trip yesterday.

Anyone used the higher seat available as extra (I believe it has extra padding) and if so does it provide more comfort on the longer hauls?

Cheers

bum ache

Get an airhawk :thumb

500miles+ no probs, also it raises you up (although slightly) higher

I second the airhawk motion. To an extend you can adjust how high you sit by putting in/letting out more air.

Just to thow a spanner in the works......

IMHO You shouldn't really be sitting on your tail-bone, regardless of the seat material/padding. I got NN's up & back risers and found I'd the same problem, so got shot of them (until I fitted a set of Renthals anyway). I'd turn the bars forward or swap them for a set of Renthals to move your position forward slightly. :thumb

Interesting thought, which I hadn`t considered and worth trying. Come to think of it never had the problem on my RT1100 or FJ1200, but did on my Kwaka GT750. I`ll report back......

I've a similar issue. Been experimenting with the seat set on the higher adjustment position at the front, and the lower position at the back. Seems to have helped, but can't report longer term yet.

The 'bars are an option I never thought off, however I did buy an Airhawk at the NEC last year. Bloody brilliant piece of kit and well worth the price. I hurt my coccyx nearly two years ago and it's been a slow healing process. I'd say that it still is only 75% better and I honestly couldn't do more than 100 miles before I was in pain before I started using the Airhawk. Now, all day any day. :bow

I have also just bought an Airhawk for my 1150ADV. We did 600 miles in two days, through France last weekend. I was comfortable for the whole trip, which would have been impossible with a standard ADV seat.
