Roadtec01 or Avon Trailrider roadtec are £50 more pair so can i ask if anyone has a
Had both and if they think it's worth the extra.

Mostly ride two up but not always with luggage

Enjoy a confidence giving tyre so more sticky than excellent mileage.

I've used the Roadtechs on my previous bike and they'll be going on this one when the OEM Michelins wear out, dunno about the Avons as I've never used them. The Roadtechs were excellent for grip wet or dry, stable, comfortable and wore nice and even. I got £30 cash back last year from the Metzeler website but it wasn't widely promoted, even the dealer didn't know about it. Always worth looking around the sites for these offers. Dunlop Roadsmart are excellent too, but wore out around 2000 miles before the Roadtechs.

Just fitted Avon Trailrider, replacing PR4 Trail.

Done 200 miles, first 10 miles, fuck all grip and short slides at moderate speed.

10-100 miles front very light in straight ahead, feels over inflated, and maybe 5° either side the loads up and gets heavy, feels like front tyre is flat. Rear still short slides that activates asc.

100-200 still lacking in grip, although feedback getting better, or I'm just getting used to them.

I've gone from 35ish mpg to 60 mpg according to fuel computer, which shows how little confidence I have in them.

PR4 rear was about 0•5mm from edge and was replaced as it had squared off after 6k miles and it was effecting the handling.

I'll give them until 1k, if there's no improvement it's back to PR4.

I wish I could be more +ve, but I can't recommend them.

Oh wow tractors that's not great at all is it worth getting them checked for summit as if that poor must be a manufacture fault ?

I love my roadtec 01's they stick like glue and even scraped the left peg on my GSA this weekend, awesome road holding.

I've checked the tyre pressures hot and cold, I removed/fitted the wheels so it was done properly.

I would have expected them to be scrubbed in by now.

I've got bt45's and rs10's; Rennsports and pr4gt on my different bike's but these tyre's are doing my head in.

I'm going to chat with Avon tomorrow, incase there was a bad batch.

Checked the pressures?

I had similar when i changed to Heidenuas? on another bike i had.. same symptoms until they were scrubbed in, and pressures reset

Mart

First thing when I fitted them, when hot they're +3 psi which is within normal increase.

Tyre's are a subjective view point, I can't get the "right" feel out of Supercorsa's which probably says more about me than the tyre.

This motorbike malarkey gets expensive 😥

What about PR4's, thats what i'm going on to next as I don't like the Anakees that came on the bike.

I'm on my 3rd set of trail riders, great tyres...

Tractors, yours sound very odd. I've had slow rear punctures in past Avons and ridden with a low preassures and they've stayed great and even felt better in the winter - while you're getting sorted I'd try dropping the rear psi down

I've used PR4s on my last two bikes and been more than happy with them. Their performance more than matches mine and I can't recall them letting me down, wet or dry. However 5500-6000 miles on a GSA isn't too great when others are reporting much higher mileages. I'll be considering other tyres when next I need some

I use the Roadtec on my XR and they are just superb for grip wet and dry and for decent life

IMO they are worth the extra

We are currently two up on a GSA fully loaded with Avon Trail Riders riding round in the Scottish highlands when it's pissing with rain. Not a single scary moment and we are not driving miss daisy. I like them for the confidence they give in the wet.

That's good mileage to my mind - on a heavy bike. You may be riding harder than other people?. I was pleased with them on my GSA, reckoning 4,500 out of a rear.

Found the Avons took awhile to get used to but a better tyre I find than PR4. Very good in the wet. Will definitely put then on next.

Trailrider are the best wet weather tyres I've had on my GS since having it (Hexhead)
