Hello again . Been missing long time . Spent last number of years looking after my mother. Between cancer 3 times, beating it every time. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s about 10 months ago . At 93 it was not a good way to go. Watched her disappear in front of me . We buried mum Tuesday past . At that age she had buried all her friends and most of her siblings . So I am back and doing good. . Reason for post . Big Girl has been sitting for few years and hoping to get her out coming months. So complete overhaul needed. First question is tyres . I have the RT 1100 alloy wheels on Lady . What should I be buying this time round ?? . Sorry about the long message but a change in life for me and it’s been long time since I have been out . First run should be to Clones for the Biker Memorial in May . Cottage is booked and need to get bike ready . If you got this far I thank you. Just needed to write this down. I will have more questions in coming weeks. Cheers everyone. Geno IMG_0345.jpeg

Hey Geno, Alzheimers is such a brutal disease and truly devastating for the family members who have to care for the afflicted. It's one of those situations where unless you have had to deal with it, you can't comprehend how awful it can be. Look after yourself and check out Conti Trail Attacks if you want a road biased tyre.

Welcome back Geno, sorry for your loss. (Michelin Road 6 are the latest in Michelins line...but 4 and 5 were also superb tyres, IMHO)

Looking after your Mum was probably the best and kindest thing you have done. A really hard thing to do and most people don’t these days . You can now move on knowing you did your best . It’s odd , I still dream about my Mum though she died nearly 4 years ago now . In my dreams she is a younger version not as she was just before she died . It’s comforting in a way . Anyway good to get your bike sorted , there’s some excellent therapy for you

Welcome back - I can't give tire advice.
I can empathise with your bereavement. I was to some extent lucky in that both my parents lived well into their 90's. Me being finally orphaned in my 70's gave me the recompense of having them around for a long long time. Watching & assisting during their final decline was painful & a privilege.
Some of my youth was consumed in darkened cinemas watching cowboy films (movies was then an unheard word) - the US cavalry frequently arrived, the bit I remember is the fallen flag bearer offering that flag to another rider. Carry your mum's flag with a lot of pride & a little sorrow.
Like a previous poster I dream of my parents & they are younger in my dreams than I am now. Strange stuff.

Great to see missing members returning. You’ve had it very tough for a few years. Time for some you time now.

Good to see you back after a couple of difficult years Geno.

As suggested above Continental Trail Attack 3 really suit the 11**GS

Robbo four years thats nowt ❤️❤️. My mum died forty yers ago and she regularly pops up in my dreams. The pattern is often similar, Im working somewhere and pop home to see my folks and they are both fine and busy around the house. I know it sounds corny but its alway sad when you wake up and realise it was a dream 🥰

Thank you all for your kind words and support. I know in my heart I did everything possible to make mums last few years the best ever. Anything she wanted she got . I have not eaten as much Herons chicken and gravy, she lived on the stuff ,7 days a week. If you asked her what she wanted. Reply was ,Can we go to Comber , not once did I say no . It’s things like that that are making me smile and laugh . Hopefully see you on the road somewhere soon. Doing the fluids and oil , new pads , new rubber . Fresh MOT . Then I will be ready.
Thank you . Gentlemen all of you .

Good to see you Geno

Sorry to hear about your Mum

I lost my mum a couple of years ago in November

The gift was having her around for such a long time

The torment and torture was losing her after such a long time

But it is what it is. And I I'm very grateful for the years that I was able to share with my mum as I am sure you are

May she rest in peace my friend. It's time to pick up your own life and move forward

Good luck! Safe travels and I hope to see you about
