Anyone got one or know of one, within striking distance of me in the Howe of Fife? Yes, I know about the venison farm outside Auchtermuchty but I've only been able to get frozen minced venison from them and they're also a lot more expensive than I used to pay at a farm shop in West Lothian.

Have you investigated Highland Game? They supply diced venison to Morrisons, and I've seen them collecting from Tentsmuir.

Whether they do minced venison or not, I have no idea. Have you a mincing machine? :D

I hadn't investigated them, however they appear not to supply mince. Also by the time their meat gets to a supermarket, I suspect it's probably at least as expensive as the Auchtermuchty farm. I'm hoping to find a source closer to the gun, if possible.

I was offered 8 legs of venison but thought it was too dear :ronno

Just how fresh would you like it :augie:augie
Seriously Mike, I can have as much as you would want at 24hrs notice for collection. Quality is good and I think I can get a reasonable price. :D

see that's just typical,...... come on here, after the bars shut and all the interfering Killmallie hoors have fucked up my margins.... kunts.......

stupid fucking questions....how much do you want??

Thanks guys - I'm not look for commercial or catering qualities but if I could source, let's say a 2 kg at a time every so often, then I could make a batch of my pasta sauce and freeze it. The stuff I used to buy had a small amount of minced pork in it to provide the fat necessary for cooking, so I'd need to know if any new supply was just venison or mixed with another meat. It wouldn't be a problem if it was, I'd just need to add some minced pork to my recipe.

However, by the time I collected it from Fort Bill, Gordon, it might be more economic to get it locally, if at all possible. There is, however, another reason that I won't go into here, that makes me a bit reluctant to use the local farm.

I'll see what I've got in the freezer in the am, sure to have a couple of kee's, I'll let you know, tour up and take it for a bottle of whasky...cleaning the freezers..

Ahh....thanks Gerard, that could help in the short term. In the longer term, I'd like to get fresh stuff.
