South Bristol-Bath area byways 27/01 or 28/01

With the wind behind me I am planning to meet you guys for the ride. I will bring the yam rather than the beema, it is easier to pick up as I fall off a lot!!!!

11:17 was too late then! :( Maybe I'll catch you next time.
Ah well, at least my 60mile round trip was pleasant :)

Well... what an adventure that was...

First off sorry to Atkule about the bad timing. I guess it was my fault that we didnt wait for you.

Trevor, in hind sight you did the right thing to re-think the situation. I had misjudged the state of the trails. It was horrible and the tourances would not have cut the mustard. Again sorry for dragging you all the way down to Keynsham. Hope the bike started alright on your way back.

What can I say.. it really turned out to be an adventure. Very muddy, slippery and wet. We must have done about 12-15 different lanes some of which were very badly eroded and rocky. Technical stuff. One stream crossing and one small ford thrown in for variety. Didnt take too many pics as we were too busy battling the terrain or having fun to be bother.

I had two spectacular off's. One on a slippery hill off-road) and another on a slipper sloping turn (on road). After the second fall we decided to call it a day as I was pretty shaken. Thank the lord for ATGATT:rob .

Pitty that most of the nice lanes have mysteriously become RUPPs and the sign is only on one end of the lane. Also so alot of rubbish and a burnt car. Surprisingly not much wildlife was about.

Mavis's lady was surprisingly good at the riding only having one minor off and keeping up with myself most of the time. BIG CONGRATS!!!

Guys thanks for the company. We shall do it again as soon as I sort out the handle bars that bent, broken blinkers and possibly a new chain and rear tyre.

George

OK then guys.
Thanks for pushing me back to the road when the battery went flat. Never mind DNF, more DNS.
Got back to the cafe, called out AA to restart & check charging - no problems. Just take it for a longish ride & charge it up properly.
Got home; picked up the boss on the back; rode to Shaftesbury, nice cup of tea. Coming back on that nice fast stretch between Frome & Radstock, funny handling on first bend, slow down & stop before 2nd. Large rear wheel puncture. "Should I get off?", she says . 2nd AA call of the day. Blue sticky goo over rear end of bike. More to the point, WE'RE ALIVE! I'm convinced that without taking precautions we'd be seriously injured at best. The moral
FIT ULTRASEAL
no excuses.
See whoever's coming tomorrow night
Trevor
xx

I hope you are ok after the road off.

Again thanks for taking the novices around I had a great ride and it has done my confidence the world of good.

Fred

Fred, thanks for the offer, I will take you up on it as I due for an MOT in Feb. Will mail you later on in the week to arrange collection.

Must say though I feel really rough today. My left side is sore from the shoulder down from the impact. Oh well paracetamol and warm tea for me tonight:blast
