I took my 800GS for its anual/6000mile service/inspection yesterday even though it only shows 4500miles I have owned the steed for a year now. The service is basically oil & filter change and check and adjust everything but some mod/recall work was also carried out which consisted of
1. Check rear sprocket nut tightness
2. Replace brake fluid in front and rear system (apparently early fluid can retain water)
3. Replace radiator hozes (although mine have never leaked)
4. Software update for slow speed unexpected stalling issue (mine stalled twice at 5 mph when I first got the bike)
I also reported tiny cracks in the windscreen around the mounting holes, apparently these are from the pressing process in manufacture. A new screen has been ordered under warranty.
All this took just 3 hours. I would like to thank Southport Superbikes for great service and customer support
