So its 14.30 and we are all ready to set off from Preston at 15.00 for the 22.00 Portsmouth boat on our 4 week tour to Turkey when friend Geoff turns up on his 50,000 mile 09 Adv to say that the bike ticks over fine but will not pull under load over 4,000rpm
. With time running out and no obvious cause I made a phone call to Southport to see if they could help us out. They did and put it on the diagnostic to find it was a stick coil breaking down under load. They took one off a new bike and had us on our way at 16.50. It was tight but we made the boat with a few minutes to spare.
So Becky, Steve and techie John please take a bow and our combined thanks for squeezing us in, helping us out and avoiding a messy start to our 6,500 mile 4 week adventure
.
Its good to show the other side of the coin when a main dealer goes out of the way to help (on a bike that was not bought from Southport). Both bikes ran perfectly for the rest of the trip. Thanks once again.

That's the third thread you've sabotaged with your negativity about servicing costs.
