Anyone know whether this helmet is a good as the AGV ax8 Dual?
:robThis old fart need to replace a very tired flat cap!!!:beerjug:

I had the sting and tried on the ax8. The ax was not comfortable and very noisy. The spada on the other hand was more comfortable for me. I would say it fits a rounder head and the ax being narrow. The other thing with the ax is the peak vibrated over 70 and made me feel like I was having a head massage. Might just be my screen set up though.

I had an off with the spada at 40 mph with a face plant on the Tarmac. It stood up very well and I will be getting another.

I would say it is not a good winter lid for two reasons. Firstly, it is very cool and secondly the visor is not great quality....although doesn't leak and due to the airflow, doesn't fog up.....just not as good as the best. Otherwise I was impressed with the quality for the price. I also found it quieter than just about any other dual sport lid and can cruise at 90 on my GSA visor up no problems. I should say I wear ear plugs and have an mra x screen fitted which is brilliant.

On the strap, I don't like the ratchet type but I found this one comfortable....and it kept the lid on in the crash....so works well.

Finally, avoid the black one as it has a white line:eek:

Hope this help.

Cheers

I have the Sting... visibility is great, and very quiet IMHO... I used to use ear plugs and now only put them in for very long motorway journeys... I found it okay for winter, but did fog up... so I put in a light sensitive anti fog insert and had no problems with visibility in any conditions...

The only downside I would say I have had for it, and its really not the fault of the helmet, is that my Rider Solo was difficult to fit and catches on my jacket collar making lifesavers sometimes difficult - not impossible - but difficult.

The visibility though is the real clincher for me - I absolutely love the Sting!
