Evening all,

Can anyone recommend a nice place to stop on the Spanish coast? Am currently in Granada, heading east so that would be east of Motril and I guess probably about as far east as Cartegna. I'm not after a copy of the Daily Mail, Egg and Chips or John Smith's.. somewhere nice and 'Spanish' if anyone has any good pointers..

Cheers,
Rob :thumby:

this place is nice, stayed here a few years back.its where lawrence of arabia was made.loads of signed pictures of the stars on the walls, peter otoole, jack hawkins, etc. also sean connery, rachel welch, ronnie barker etc.used to be the in place to stay for the stars.

Garrucha and Villaricos is quite nice. Not too many Brits in Garrucha and avoid dining too near to the beaches.

Alternatively, just go riding and decide when you've had enough and find a place to stop. If you're riding along the coast be warned that you are going to meet the A7 from time to time.

Buen viaje.

Same area, Carboneras, on the northern edge of Cabo de Gato, close to where the Lawrence attack on Aquaba was filmed. Hostel Felipe, Hotel Felipe, Bar Felipe and Restaurant Felipe all arranged around a crossroads, something for every budget.

I would be tempted to head to the south side of the Sierra Nevada and find a place to stay in San Jose (loads available) .... Avoid Almeria unless you like poly tunnels ;)

Splendid :thumb2

Many thanks one and all.. R
