I understand from my my soon to be darling lady wife that the Father-in-Law (to be) was accosted on the Plymouth-Santander ferry by a few of the 'orribly enthusiastic UKGSER lot on his way to a pleasant week or so riding around the finer parts of spain. I tried to warn, I really did. So very sorry. 
If you happen to see a small dot on the horizon, trying to acheive a short cut, it's prob just his TomTom sending him the wrong way. Then again, he is the adventurous type so maybe not......
