Spare CN8 DVD ?

Does anyone have a spare City Navigator Europe V8 DVD they could let me have please, I'm fed up waiting for Garmin to send me one.

I believe there are two types, it's the standard one I need, not the NT version.

I do not need mine as CS7 is better for my Quest1. Could send it to you tomorrow. It has a serial number on it (it is a paid for upgrade). If you can register it to yourself with Garmin without any problems you could then send me a cheque (anything between 3/4 and full amount of upgrading cost would do).

Map tile size is one reason (for my travels abroad I got better coverage of the area I want or might want to go with the limited memory on my Quest), certain routing issues in the Alps the other (where as the Quest1 with CS7 finds the shortest route any time, the Quest with CN8 routes around certain Alpine passes which I do not like when calculating routes in the field). Personal preference, I believe.

Thanks for the offer, but I qualify for the upgrade free from Garmin so there's no point in me paying for one.

Hope you get it soon. I got mine (from CS6 to CS7 and then to CN8) very quickly.

I just checked my free upgrade from CS6 to CS7. My upgrade from CS6 to CS7 had a serial number on it I needed for registering, so borrowing a CD or DVD might not work or might invalidate the other users licence, but as a novice in these things, I might be wrong.

I've been assured at least a dozen times that a copy "will be in tonights post..." I STILL haven't recieved a DVD from them.... after several months of trying!

Anyone got a DVD they can copy for me? - should be legal as you need a key code to use it.

I ordered mine approx 6 weeks ago and heard nothing so I rang them on Friday. The very helpful gentlemen at the other end told me he would send me all I need to know by email and I got details of how to unlock the DVD from him!? So I emailed him back so tell him that the info was useless without the DVD - he promised he would answer all my queries immediately but I have heard nothing since!

So, like Walti, if anybody can supply a copy I would be grateful.

Right. My bloody big mouth. Bought some DVDs today and just tried to copy them to send them off tomorrow. Nero, Windows Explorer won't do it, the copying. Stupid me or copy protection? If one can show me how to get around this, how about the Serial Number later on? Anyone around who can give good advice? Is it possible to upgrade from a copied DVD?

I think you could be right there,now that you mention it I seem to remember someone saying that the City Select discs could be copied but the City Navigator ones were protected.

My blood pressure always rises slightly when I am not able to make a back up copy of whatever software I bought.
