I have a 2020 GSA which comes supplied with an electronic fob and a flip out key for opening the luggage , removing the seat etc. Has anyone managed to obtain a duplicate flip out key? I don’t want to buy the entire fob as BMW want over £200 for it but I do want a spare metal flip out key. And yes, I know the the plastic emergency works……..but I don’t want to be forced to use the plastic emergency key to remove the sat nav, unlock the luggage, remove the seat etc.
I have been to a couple of car key replacement specialists and they have said the same thing, that the issue is in obtaining the blanks to cut the key from. Car key ones are the wrong size apparently. Has anyone managed to sort out a duplicate flip out key?

Your dealer will sell you an unchipped metal key for about £22. It’s not flip out as you described, but is clearly a genuine BMW key. You will probably have to produce your bike V5 and they will order it from your bike VIN number.

You can buy a pre cut blade for replacing a broken blade of a flip out. you could make something to hold onto, using some epoxy putty or something.

They're about £12 from a dealer, as Alan says, you just need the number and proof that you own the bike.

That’s what I have for the OP’s required duties. Far more sturdy than the flip out key that I had to replace due to snapping it!

You coukd try 'keys cut to code'
[email protected], there's a pro forma to fill out and upload proof and pho I belive

This ^^^^^^^ I used him to get a non transponder key, though it's not a flip out, just a normal key. The dealers will get you one without the transponder in it for about £30 IIRC but then you've got to remember which is which

E bay dumb key blanks something like £7 each and two cut by local shop for about the same

IIRC (it's been nearly 4 years since I used Key2code) you can order via his website. I found the code for mine and did it that way but I think you can also send him a photo of your key. I had mine back in just a few days 👍
