spare FPC: how much does it cost?

LOOK IM A BIT THICK

All thes work around cabels for the fpc, if I buy one and I plug it into my aux socket thats up by the dash, that is hard wired to my battery ( yes i managed to do it myself and no problems after 10 months) will it work, to get me along, and if I unplug it wont that shut the fuel pump down, I doing 2 weeks around eastern europe soon, and although i have bmw breakdown until october I dont want to be left on some hillside and £60 seems a lot for a lead from BMW, thanks, Neil (WOULD LIKE TO WORK ON BIKES BUT DONT HAVE THE SKILLS OR TOOLS OR TIME OR A GARAGE OR ABILITY)

Then don't fcuk about with bypass leads, buy a spare, practise how to change it before you go, then you probably won't need to use it :thumb2

IIRC the FPC pulls more than 5 amps so using the accessory socket wont work.

your link on the other hand, doesn't!

not sure if this was part of the joke though, as I am new to english humour!

hang on! got the bugger.. Its sticky on 1200 board under FPC WORKAROUND by Wapping...

searching as "fuel pump controller replacement instructions" no good then...

That why I modified mine to connect directly to the battery and installed a fuse holder and in line of the cable. When engine is stopped, I can just pull the fuse and put it in my wallet. :D
As this is for emergency help only its good enough for me:nenau

I'm on my third and the fourth is in the top box ready. IMHO the cost of a spare FPC isn't too much to pay for peace of mind, and compared to the overall running costs isn't bad value for money.

agreed mate , just bought 1....

Replaced mine recently in the comfort of my own back yard. Carry the original (06) as a spare now. Wouldn't want to do it on a dark wet night. Needed nimble fingers and bright light. :thumb2
