Now then

Just spoken to Allan Jefferies to look at a spare pair of wheels for the bike,
they want
'Bare pair of wheels are £852.10 inc vat
Pair of wheels with 2 front discs and mount, rear disc and mount £1505.63. (note the sprocket and carrier are separate items to rear wheel so can be used swapped between wheels easily.)'

think I'll just keep swapping tyres over!!
unless anybody knows of anywhere else to try.

Cheers

Man that’s nuts! Anyone know a breakers yard that deals with smashed GS's ??? Could prove useful!

Hmmm, now you're really going to struggle with this, I think.

I've a quick look on the Talon website and they don't do wheels for the F800GS (or 658GS) but do a set for the G450. Maybe worth giving them a call for a price on a "special" - but you better be sitting down at the time!

Most other wheel building companies are geared up for the MX world so rear rims are 18" not 17".

An alternative is to keep pestering someone like http://www.motorworks.co.uk/?ref=ukgser or http://www.james-sherlock.co.uk/ to see if they get in the occasional secondhand wheel.

As you say, it looks like your best bet is to keep swapping over your tyres - at least you'll be a pro in no time.

What difference?

Slower acceleration, higher top speed…..but ultimately the bike is not in spec as per BMW standard homologation and (now that we’re all in Europe) I wouldn't be surprised if your insurer had something to say about it .....i.e. it should not be on the road with a non approved rim.

Change your tyres.
