Spark plug socket diameter

Can someone please give me the external diameter of a spark plug socket that fits. I have lost the one I had so am just going to turn a normal one that I have kicking about down to the right size. Bike and Lathe aren't in the same place so I cant trial fit and I don't want to take too much off and make it fragile.

I can only answer for the 2009 GS (pre twin cam)... and that is 16mm.
I would suggest buying one as the wall thickness is thin...to say the least

Thanks ojay just arrived at the lathe so your info is just in time.

16 mm is the hex size not the outside of the socket.
