changed oil, oil filter and air filter..... then went to remove the plugs, dam it:blast I couldn't figure out how to remove them:confused:

Yes. They are a complete mare. I did a plug change once on my F650, then sold it! Great bikes but a pig to work on (compared to a Boxer).

Very easy, outsde cap turn clockwise as far as it will go and carefully lift off and remove plug- inside cap turn anticlock as far as it will go and lift off and remove plug, obviously blow round them with the airline before you take out the plugs to get rid of any bits that could fall inside. Refit inside plug first, a spray of WD40 will help the caps go back on ( dont mix up the caps ). Very easy bike to work on. Graham

so,
on the one hand..
it's a sod to work on.
on the other hand,
it's very easy. :nenau

:mmmm - seriously interested - i've heard various 'tales'.
i may end up with an F'er some day - well, i can hope anyhow :P
so the more info the better. :thumb2

to get to them i remove all the tank panels, the snorkel and the airbox. I do it this way seeing as they only need doing every 6000 miles and you have to take the airbox, oil tank and the battery off to get to the head to do the valve clearances, makes sense to do it at the same time :D
