Hi All,

Just a couple of questions if I may.

For a GS1200 twin spark 2006/7

Are the iridium plugs the best to buy? if so
Does anyone know the NGK part number? I tried halfords they have all the plugs but no reference document for the part number.

Thanks

My local Halfords did not have the correct plugs in stock but could order them in at 24 hours notice. In their defence, none of my local bike shops or auto parts factors had the plugs in stock.

Hehe... But why were their 'helpful and knowledgeable' staff unable to check a book or their own damn website to select the right ones for you?

I was told they have taken away the reference book as they dont want to be responsible for supplying the incorrect item.

Bought some off ebay in the end.

I have 4 DCPR8EIX for sale.
I took them out of my 2008 gsa when I traded it in for a 2010 dohc model, but it use different plugs.
They have only done 2.5k miles and can be yours for £12 plus postage:augie

Nothing like conformation of a stereotype. :scotsman

Did you keep any excess air from the tyres, a shame to waste that too.

Thanks for offer but already ordered some new ones before i saw this.

Yes.

DCPR8EIX

Och aye... with so many complaints around of GSs and GSAs running lean (including mine), a little extra insurance is to go one heat-range colder on the plugs (especially for you Brits, since 99% of you guys run at sea level and use higher-octane fuels than we do, letting the ECU advance the ignition that much further...)
It helps fight detonation, and the ones I use have never fouled. In fact, looking at them, they are STILL running fractionally too hot...

So the ones to use would be DCPR9EIX. BUT - if I had access to Denso plugs (unavailable in RSA), I would be using IXU-27.

Just out of interest, there are two NGK racing plugs that will fit the hex-heads (as well as F-series twins and K-series slant-fours):
R2525 (angled ground-strap electrode, available in heat-ranges 9, 10 and 11) and R2349 (semi-surface discharge, available in heat-ranges 9, 10 and 11).

Halfprds is great; not cheap but they have good quality stuff. BUT, you really need to know exactly what your looking for and if you do, everything is just fine.
