Hi Airheaders
As part of the first service I have done on my new (to me!) 1989 R80GS I replaced the plugs. I got a service kit from motobins, which included bosch plugs. When I removed the old ones, they were 'platinum' bosch, I replaced them with standard ones. After the service I didnt really notice and difference in performance when running the bike.
My question do these 'performance' sparkplugs make any difference in airheads?
What sparkplugs do other people use?
I did hear during my beetle ownership time that different plugs are made in different ways and that threads are different. As I understood, NGK (?) plugs have a rounded profile on the threads that are kinder on the alloy heads.
Other plugs have a cut edge that can hurt the threads in the head. Has anyone else heard this? Is this the same on twins?
Any help much appreciated
