Anyone ever fitted speakers to their GSA ? I've just put some portable USB speakers on mine (just behind the windshield) to run off my iPhone but they are not loud enough - need to hear them without earphones/buds etc. Any recommendations cheers ?

So you want to annoy the rest of us like the guys (morons) in their Corsa's with the 600W stereo boom boxes who drive around with their windows down?

Yeah .... I mean can you imaging trying to listen to music over the noise of the gear box and clutch rattle ....

I still have a speaker on my GSA crossbar......it's plugged straight into my Quest cradle.

I put it on an old Funduro I dis a bit of despatching on in London....mainly as an easy audible alert for turnings coming up.....I didn't want to be wired to the bike physically and looning around at the speed you have to keep up to make any money takes a lot of focus on the traffic/roads, so although I couldn't hear the voice commands properly, the beep it made at least let me know to glance down.

I moved it onto the GSA for long tours, for similar reasons......it would be hopeless to listen to music on, but again, the beeps are enough to catch the attention to the GPS.

How could you hear speakers with a helmet and ear plugs though?

For use on a bike they need to be able to go up to 11 :rob

What's the bike got to do with it! Jim told me to always turn 'em up to 11 :thumb2

Tony, I pass your way on my way to the office ... don't be upset if I ignore you if I hear you coming

The Americans do this a lot, you'll see lots of handlebar mounted speakers on US websites. You will need an amplifier to boost sound.
Tork (who are Candian) supply their booster for doing this sort of thing. I'll have the new version in a few weeks.

You may need better speakers once amplified (as the Booster will double volume).

I've got a sub you can have ! Fit it in your top box and boom away :)

Thanks mate - think I'm going to stick with a USB portable unit like a Logitech UE Boombox (whatever that means) and mount it in a pushbike drinks holder. Be able to keep it charged and take it off to avoid getting it nicked.

If your bike has spoked wheels, I've got some spokey dokeys from the 80's in a cupboard somewhere.:thumb:D
