Special showing of Dunlops' biopic in Bradford

Lifted from the Telegraph and Argus if anyone's interested...sounds quite good if this is your 'thing'...

The Odeon at Gallacher Leisure Park, Thornbury, Bradford will be showing a gala screening of the movie Road on Wednesday 11th June

Road, narrated by Liam Neeson, follows the Dunlop family of bikers who dominated road racing for 30 years.

The gala screening will be followed by a one-off Q&A with the stars themselves, Michael and William Dunlop. The Dunlops will be joined on the panel by road racing ace John McGuiness, who has 19 Isle of Man TT titles.

I had a google, saw lots of cinemas doing the Live Q&A on the same date / same time - is on their Facebook page:
"The live Q&A will be broadcast directly from the Leicester Square cinema after the film finishes (starting at 7)."
So don't go along to the cinema expecting famous faces - unless you happen to see me

It's also at Castleford Cineworld which I think I'll go along to

Al - as I said 'lifted from the Telegraph & Argus' - shouldn't be surprised if it was inaccurate as they make a habit of never getting the facts straight and are basically opposed to letting reality get in the way of their crap reporting!

Bit disingenuous that! The implication from the T&A article was that the Dunlops and John McG would be on site...going to be a few angry punters all round the country then!

I agree it's misleading. None of the cinemas seem to make it clear that the "LIVE Q&A" talk is not actually in front of you.

Went to Cineworld at Xscape today - was going to the nearby shops anyway & thought I'd save myself the online booking fee by collecting a ticket.
However, the ticket desks were closed (circa 4pm & a long queue for film entry). I asked a local who said they rarely are open & you have to buy tickets at the ice-cream shop or electronic machine. Only 1 electronic machine working so that had another queue and so did the ice-cream shop. I gave up. What a mess!

I was lucky enough to see, "Road", @ the Villa Marina in Douglas on, "Mad Sunday".

I found the insightful and unromantic approach very refreshing, particularly coming after the Guy Martin centric, "Closer to the Edge".

I rarely want to see a film a second time after a first viewing, but, "Road", is an exception, I may even be buying it on DVD.

Be warned however, this realistic coverage of road racing leaves no room for doubt as to the real costs involved, and footage of lethal crashes are included.

We were there on the Saturday - I was surprised really that it wasn't a sell out. Completely agree with your review though - it's unromantic but at times incredibly emotional. Best film I've seen about road racing.
