can you switch the bonging noise for speed cameras on zumo & still have it come up on screen as it drives me nuts

I will 2nd that, up where we are, there appears to be hundreds of camera locations and the Zumo is always bonging!!

When the Zumo comes on, the music level is reduced, making it even more annoying!

I accept that at least it warns you of possible safety camera van activity, so it is a bit of a catch 22!!

Haven't tried this (as in I don;t have camera alerts on normally) but you could try muting the directions/instructions volume (ie down to 0%) - I've found if I'm listening to music the interuption is a pain in the bum & this stops it..............

I'm guessing it might work even if you have no route running & camera warnings on :nenau

If you don't want the alerts then just delete the camera files in the memory. Or rather, move them to your computer. Then you can put them back in when you go to unknown areas.

You can link the alerts with .mp3 files (the Pocket GPS site has more details and sample speech files "warning Gatso 30mph" etc) so I guess you could get rid of the bongs by linking to silent .mp3 files (if there is such as thing :augie). Or just turn the volume down....

Ho ho ho... who is the cnut who thought to put that on a GPS?
It would be OK to just flash a little symbol up, like it does when you're running out of diesel but when the speed camera warning 'takes over' control of the screen (and tunes) its bloody infuriating.
Especially as you would normally need to be tamperfering with settings as you approach/pass a 'safety' camera zone. :) :augie

Stupid and un-needed function.

Will it take the quickest route? Will it ****.
It will always want to take the Drovers Trail through York in stead of the quicker M62 to Hull.... Twit of a thing then keeps Nagging to make a U-turn and turn off the A/M1.
But it's still a not bad tool all the same.
