I had to have a front puncture repaired this afternoon :(. Anyway, the good news is that it shouldn't be a problem for the life of the tyre.

The bad news is that the chap managed to crack the plastic fitting that holds the wheel end of the speedo cable onto the wheel.

Can this be replaced or do I need to buy a whole new cable and fittings?

JB-Weld it.

Trust me... I did the same damn thing on my bike.

Superglue was to brittle.

Thank you for the ideas.

In fact, after some thought, I disappeared in to the garage at 2300 whilst the kids had commandeered the large TV room so they and a group of silly giggling adolescents could rage and rail against Big Brother.

After cleaning up the broken plastic part and removing all grease, I roughed the surfaces up with some wet 'd dry and used Araldite to make a repair. I guess tomorrow that I'll paint it over matt black.

What a flimsy bit of gear, though. Having looked at it, I could see why it was so easy for the guy to over-tighten the screw holding the parts togther.
