Went to replace my speedo cable the other night but I couldn't work out how to remove it from the gearbox end, the Haynes manual didn't throw any ligt on it for me.

Any advice greatly received

Stephen there's a 10mm hex head just below the rubber boot on the cable at the back edge of the gearbox undo the bolt all the way and withdraw the cable outer sleeve

Be careful that you get the new cable seated correctly as it's the round bit of the bolt keeps it in by catching in a groove on the cable outer

Cheers lads, I suspected that might be the case.

Jay....still haven't sorted out the towbar socket on the car yet, K still waiting patiently in back garden.

when inserting the cable into the gear box, it is possible to insert it incorrectly.
I've down this a few times and got odd readings from the speedo and the odometer. The cable needs to fully set. Put the bike into a high gear and turn the rear wheel while pushing the cable down.
Don't use any grease on the cable, do check that the breather in the bolt is clear - don't ask why I pass on this piece of information.
