Speedometer failure on GS1200, 2005 model

Does anyone know how to solve a failure of the speedometer on a GS 1200 2005 model? Had the bike since last May and after a few problems with the ABS system, I had the whole ABS disconnected, problem cured. Rides the bike without any problems until today, when not speedometer. Intermittently, the words "lamps" will feature on the digital monitor, but not sure if thats connected or not.

Speedo failed on my GS 12 today also.

Check Your Speed sensor in the FD has not become furred up with Metallic particles or the cable damaged or kinked badly
