Splutter of liquid from exhaust on start-up

On start-up from cold I'm getting a a good splattering of liquid drops from out from the end Remus pipe. Its got a Remus Y piece in place, not been stored wet either.

I'll do th finger test next, but I'm hazarding its un-spent petrol or liquid deposits as the bike cools when?

Bikes only 6 mths old with almost 3K miles on it. ie, minter. Had a seacrh but can't see anything remotely like this. I'm guessing it isn't normal?

These tend to ejaculate sometimes even at the prospect of getting a ride, sometimes before even any movement has taken place.
Dont worry, the more riding you do, the less this will happen.

Dont do the finger test as this will make matters worse

Condensation, not an unusual by-product of the 'infernal combustion' process. Hot exhaust gases meeting the cooler ambient air creates condensation (tiny water droplets) its the same as you huffing into the still night air and you can see your breathe....condensation. Additionaly water (moisture) is a by product of the combustion process anyway so its always present to a more or lesser degree. Tends to be worse with cat equipped bikes/cars etc.

Good thing...its normal.

Bad thing...if you only do short stop start trips, then the exhaust will start to corrode inside more so than normal. The way to prevent this is to ensure that your journey is sufficiently long enough to thoroughly heat the whole exhaust system and thus dry out this condensate.

Surprising fact

Burning a gallon of petrol produces just over a gallon of water. There's your dribble of water when cold, as soon as it's warm it disappears as water vapour.

Try sitting on your bike when you start her up. That way you won't get splattered with liquid drops.
