I already have the aluminium wheels and i am considering in exchanging mine with a set of spoke wheels. I like the dirt roads and "adventures" kind of stuff, but i also do many trips in tarmac. What do you suggest i do ?

So...questions...
1. Is the more weight of the spokes a problem ?
2. Are they really better in off-roads ?
2.5. I have to pay nothing for the exchange.(it's not a question)
3. The aluminium are better in tarmac ??
4. Do you think i will make a good exchange ?

All these,i've heard from many people at times, what do you think about this ?

Look better, but pigs to clean. Meant to be less deformable. Might be able to true damage up, but I wouldn't like to. Probably less likely to damage if you hit something. Manual says you should check tension of spokes - more maintenance, then again many on this site would see that as an advantage.
Uninformed rant over

Thanx !!

I will probably exchange them..Does anybody know the more weight of these , comparing them to the Aluminium ?

Unless you are carrying them weight won't make a lot of difference :D

I've got spokes.

My 2 wheeled chelsea tractor needs then as my rims on the old bike got battered to pieces around London.
Yes, they are heavier but not enough to "bovver"

yes, pig to clean.

jlabro,

I asked the same question a little while back and the answer I got is here.

I have the aluminium wheels and have decided to keep them cause I have been told that they are fine for soft offroad use. Even offroad, I am really gentle on my bike. It's all about how you want to ride. I prefer the look of the aluminiums and like the fact that the rear wheel is lighter.

Thanx Deano !

I want to have adventures and in Greece, there are so many bad dirty roads,so i will probably switch them (without any cost)
