just checking over the new gs12 adventure and noted the rear wheel was a few mm out from being round - ie the rim wobbled up and down as it spun. is this normal tolerance for a spoked wheel on a gs. i suspect it is but wondered what you guys think.

I think it is because the rims are rolled and welded together, this means that where the roll starts and finishes where it is,therefore, welded there is a slight flat.Do not think it is anything to worry about too much.

I don't think the construction of the wheel has anything to do with it - the way that the wheel is laced should mean that it should be spot on round. If the wheel was noticeably out of true - either the rim or the outside of the tyre, I'd get it swapped before shelling out the dosh.

I had a run out problem. Got a new wheel under warranty (07 GSA 8000 miles)

My brother had a similar run out, only his was the final drive. That's been fixed, and there's still run out so that's probably a wheel as well.
