SPORTOURING.COM (now with a happy ending)

A+ service for me.....

Purchased a tyreplugger kit from them for tubeless tyres. They sent me one for tubed by mistake. I opened the packet (Clumsy wise with kitchen knife:blast) before realising I had the wrong one sent out. Packaging was seriously trashed:augie

Phoned them up, explained what had happened and they sent me another before I had chance to send the old one back.

A1 service in my book and would have zero hesitation buying from them again.

Mistakes do happen, Its how people put things right that matters.

Roger.

good point

i will leave it up to the mods to decide whether to remove the thread.
but yes, he seems to be a nice guy and hopefully i can get things sorted now

an update

Had an email from Mike and he is sending me a refund from Florida!
now thats service:)

Perhaps a reame of the thread to Be Aware Sportouring.com? Not yet had opportunity to use but they seem well thought of and it appears Mike has taken the appropriate steps to remedy the situation.
I would not have a problem dealing with them on this evidence - in fact it would be a positive in their favour!

An object lesson in how to deal with a customer complaint.

I'm sure he's gained the OP as a loyal customer and won some new customers too - me included.

Better than having a pop at the complainant, like others have done on here.

Nice one Mike.

They say that no publicity is bad publicity....after a dodgy start to the thread, Mike has come out of this well....if nothing else it made me have a look at the web site..and it's now been bookmarked :thumb2

I certainly wouldn't hesitate in ordering from them from what I've read, and from Mike's actions seem exceptional.

I'll be browsing.....so expect an order soon. :thumb2

Top man Mike.

Well said:thumb2

I think people on here will read the thread because of the title and then find out that there are two sides to every story..............

Olys complaint was reasoned and stuck to the facts never decending into a rant.
Mike dealt with the issue as soon as he heard about it

They both come out of it OK IMO

All companies make cock ups from time to time but its how they deal with those errors that marks the good from the bad.

I wasn't aware of the site but will now be ordering a set of grip puppies:thumb2

Although I may wait until next week when the holidays over:D

I'll get a bit of editing sorted out :thumb

Thread title amended. :)

Hi All, thanks to everyone for their comments both good and otherwise. It's extremely important that this sort of thing is brought to my/our attention as soon as possible and I thank you for that.

As I said to Oly in my email, whilst we try very hard to do things right, I am the first to admit that we are not perfect. When we do cock things up, I try very hard to put it right and make sure the customer comes out a winner overall. It's what I would expect if the situation were reversed!

On the subject of Grip Puppies, I have to advise that as of yesterday, we are back ordered on these for a week or so!

It's great here in Florida, though the diabolical exchange rate is making things very expensive. It's typical that I get away for a sunny break and you guys get sun, sun, sun.... !!! (after visiting Florida for several years, I finally got to see one of the Shuttle missions blast off... very, very cool!)

All the best, speak soon,
Mike.

Another positive vote for Mike & his business.
I first met Mike when I bought a Staintune exhaust for an 1150RT some 6 or 7 years ago. I've had many subsequent dealings with him, & he's an absolute gent (well, apart from being Welsh:hide) very helpful, & a pleasure to do business with.

I was quite warming to the guy and his business up until I read this :-)
