I was considering changing to a Camelbak,

As the internal Hydrapac for the Rallye suits is a pain in the proverbial, you have to unzip half the jacket to get to the pouch pocket,

Once in the pouch , the pack is unsupported, and then you have to either try and feed the tube through the jacket and connect it, without it deciding to spill , leak or get tangled

easy enough if you have time the day before , but early start in the dark - forget it

Saw this today ,

So procured it

Its got an internal Velcro hook / loop arrangement , so the Hydrapac can be hung instead of just dropped into the pouch,

looking at the available space, it will take a bigger pack, 2L should be no issue ,

If you don't want to use the supplied drink pack, they have a Karrimor one available too

So initial observations and home trial

Fit -

The upper webbing body strap works ok, however its clearly tailored for pushbike riders with no padding whatsoever , it fits round my Rallye 2 jacket full padded , so ok for me I'm an XL

Lower strap, not a hope in hell lol, even EU naturel it only just goes round my well established midriff, so I've ordered some webbing of the web, and I'll extend the two lower straps

The upper straps have a tube feed on both sides, so if you like to feed from the RH it will work for you too

I'll do a filled test closer to my first trip

I've had a couple of Camelbaks, first one way back when they were first 'invented', early 90s?. Great for what they're designed to do. Recently (well, 5 yrs ago) I needed a new bladder for mine but saw that AldiLidl had whole new bag and bladder for less than the camelbak bladder alone...so I tried it. Did what it is meant to do. Lug a bag of water about when I'm out mountainbiking. Good value stuff....like the Pinnacle above.
