Guys, I`ve just fitted one of those `sports` fairings (MachineArt) to my GS.

Naturally any decent vestige of weather protection is lost when compared to the OEM screen but, if I may, I would like to ask for opinions? Personally I`m undecided at this time.

I`d welcome and I`m actually interested in what us `The Lads` think? Honest opinions (one word if necessary :D) with or without sarcasm, belittling and Arm Chair Warrior comments all welcome - its a free world :clap

And btw its great to be back :) I hope everyone is ok and I look forward to getting to the meets in the New Year :bounce1

Not for me I'm afraid, there must be better things to spend your money on !!!

It's not for me. I'd rather go the other way. ie bigger

I did exactly that on my GSA and the results were awesome. I`m not trying to justify what I`ve done, simply ask people what they think. One thought is that IMHO the GS is such a weapon in the right hands that it can see off much `fast plastic` - and this, I suppose, emphasises the very sporty performance. Its if the cost of weather protection outweighs the more `sporty` look?????

And thanks for replying fella, ride safe.

Yes I get it. It does make it look more sporty but for that I think I would prefer the black or perhaps even the body colour.

I like it, just returned from Spain/France and was wanting a small sports screen, have always preferred little or no wind protection.

For summer use then yes if it works. That's the important thing - does it work? The aesthetics need to be very much a secondary consideration. I suspect you'll find that it reduces any turbulence that was present with the OEM screen at the cost of reducing the wind protection and it would probably be better off-road as well. I did something similar with a previous GS and liked the result during the summer months.

Nope, it looks like a Korean car's dash board! Maybe better in a different colour/carbon fibre?

I used to have a small Puig screen on my GS, but it was black, and looked good. That would look good either in black, or maybe red, but in grey, it just looks odd.

Good to have you back, btw.:thumb

well that's one positive opinion!

I do feel, generally, that the average GSER prefers the weather protection - which is uber (see what I did there?) understandable :thumb2

And yet there is something to be said for the `sporty` look - I guess it just wouldn`t look right on an 1150.............

ooops, that's me off to hell :D

Not for me - would need clip-ones and rear sets for it to make sense, oh and then lower the bike, put smaller wheels on etc,etc

Not for me, if it were black tint it would be 100% better

Yeah I agree - it may `go` with the side panels and grey tank surround but it would, I believe, look better in black :thumb but even then would not have the same `visual dynamics` as Nuts`s.

(Good job he`s paying me for this.................)
