Sportsbikeshop now sell Peak Design

I have a quad lock, and I have to say it does my head in, it never attaches like in the ad. It is a 10 minute push and twist, again and again.
So this can’t be any worse.
Or maybe it is me.

Likewise, gone over to Peak Design and it’s a big Improvement.

Nope not just you. Peak design much better.
Think it was the Captain who got me and a few others to swap to peak design.

Yes, Peak design is far superior (thanks Captain) to any other mount although quite pricey. Be careful when looking at their website though, it's full of lots of travel accessories which will drain your hard earned sharpish. Like their phone mounts, it's all good stuff....

Peak Design started life making camera bags, straps and the like, which were (and remain) very good stuff.

I’ve been sucked into peak design. Have a camera sling bag (excellent) and now phone mount and case. I’ve managed to false fit my phone once, every other time it’s snapped on first time securely so I’m sold on them now.

They do god Black Friday deals if anyone plans on switching.

Just checked the prices and think I will wait for the sale. Penny saved and all that.

And I see that PD now do a new GNAR phone case which differs to the Everyday Case

All the protection, ruggedness, and connect-ability that you could ever want from a phone case, yet with a clean and refined aesthetic, the iPhone 17 GNAR case is among our first generation of cases to be Fair Trade Certified. Designed for those individuals who are 'down to clown' but don't want to look like one, GNAR Case is ideal for motorcycling, mountain biking, and the security-loving 'belt-and-suspenders' types. Compared to the Everyday Case, it has a bit more padding—3.2mm thick (vs. 2.4mm), 4.4mm TPU bumper (vs. 3.4mm), raised camera bezel—yet retains a flat, slim profile that feels svelte in your hand and your pocket. A lightweight recycled polycarbonate body features a smooth scratch-and-stain-resistant finish that's easy to clean. A diamond-knurled edge texture and extra-wide machined/anodized aluminum buttons make GNAR Case easy to handle, even with gloves on. A soft Clarino™ microfiber internal liner keeps your phone pristine, and a removeable USB-C port plug prevents dirt and water ingress in outdoor environments. And of course, it contains our brilliant magnetic/mechanical SlimLink™ locking system for instant connection to all Peak Design Mobile mounts, chargers, and accessories. We designed GNAR Case for ultra reliable lightning-fast wireless charging, which can be an issue with some thicker 3rd party cases. It even works with Apple MagSafe chargers and accessories, however compatibility with all 3rd party chargers is not guaranteed.

The rugged phone case market is full of needlessly chonky and aggro-styled specimens, each screaming to the world how tough they are. Peak Design hears those desperate screams, and GNAR Case is our answer. What does the GNAR acronym stand for? Go Nuts And Ride? Get Naked And Roll? We hope to find out ourselves, someday.

Just ordered one

Shame they don’t do matching wallets (yet) but the other wallets fit .

I have committed to the Quad lock system, its cost is the reason I stick with it.
I agree that like others mounting your phone seems to be more luck than technique.
Once on it is secure though.

I have the mount with extra brackets, anti vibration and wireless charger with the USB auto shut off under the seat.

All in all it cost me £3.5 million, give or take a pound 😂

the PD does look simpler?

I used Quadlock until I discovered Peak Design then binned the Quadlock stuff.
Peak Design is in a different league for quality and ease of use.
The phone mount system makes the Quadlock system look very clunky and amateurish .
You simply aim the phone at the mount and magnets and tabs click it in . It can’t come out . Then you press two tabs to release .Simple but genius.
Quite a few converts on here after I was an early adopter of PD kit.
I know Whopping and Faffskiy both now use PD. A number of others too.

Edited to add-a good demonstration of the PD system

I bought a Galaxy fold on a whim, great phone but nobody does cases for it to attach to the bike.

Agreed i changed from Quadlock to Peak Design after he said they were better.
Footnote.
Only bit of advice I've ever taken of the twat.😂

I hate the Quad Lock attachment process, spend more time trying to put it on then riding :D

Might look for a vibration damper too if I move over to PD..

Agreed. Quadlock is utter shite . So fiddly . PD is in a different league . Just wished they’d started earlier to save me wasting money on Quadlock shite .

I'm also a convert, No looking back. Only thing is, the rubber pad has come loose off one of the mounts, they can't supply me a new one to stick on, I "need to put in a warranty claim". Seems bit much for what it is, so i've used double sided tape. I know they have a lifetime warranty, but...
