If a 1200 sportster (1999 year) has had the final drive changed to chain drive, can the electronic speedo sensor still work?

This is a hypothetical at the moment, I’m just not up to speed on the Harley electrics .

Thanks

I thought it picked up off the gearbox? :duno

It reads off the back of the transmission, RH side near output shaft. The only issue to consider, for speedo accuracy, will be the sprocket sizes chosen, which will need to match the belt drive reduction ratio.

Not the best of DIY videos, but it serves to walk you through the process. .........

It’s on a bike already…..I’m just thinking about buying the bike.
I just need to know a few bits n pieces before I commit to buy the bike, as I have a few ideas as to what I want to do with it.

Thanks all for the help

I changed a Sportster from Belt to Chain with no issues

My Dyna runs a chain conversion as well and speedo matches gps

Feking ne'er-do-wells, wandering in and out because some dip shit was too off of their tits to lock up, It's a fucking travesty.

Generally “bought in” components are metric…. Forks, brakes etc….have been for quite a while.. You get used to it.
