so then folks......which spot lights do you use/recommend and where's best to shop for em? :eek:drool:bow:thumb

EASY... Twalcom from AdventureBikeWarehouse, they'll even fit them for FREE! Easily the best in my opinion. I wired in an Autoswitch from Nippy Normans so all I do is double click the turn signal cancel to switch them on and off.

"double click the turn signal cancel"

That won't work for me, as I have indicator cancel OCD... I have to press it like 5 times just to be sure :-/

I have the Hellaff50`s which come on with the main beam for distance work and a pair of led spots for extra noticeability(is that a proper word?)

I have tidied the garage since this pic was taken

Or if you have more sense than money, you can buy a set of spots from Halfords for £30 and use a right angle bracket to attach them to the headlight unit bolts...

well as mentioned there is a huge thread to sift through.

I dont know about more sence than money never could work out that balance:D as my available cash has mood swings work dependant :roll

But in my opinion the best light bar in the world (probably) is here made by rugged roads

Also of this parish a kit of light bar, lights and light guards from Les Wassall at www.hid50.com
under auxiliary lights are these.

which I have.

On the f800gs you would mount them probably the other way up (on top) which looks great with the light guards as they look well erm Rugged (excuse the pun), mine are there as my indicators are higher positioned than the F8's (I wanted my indicators highly visable even when all lights are on, and they are!)

The main reason why I think its best is the way the one peice bar is shaped to take the lights away from main lights or indicators, this creates more of a triangle of lights when viewed by others coming towards you and secondly I find the light pattern of my main is spread further with the addidion of the auxiliaries rather than blending with what I already have.

I have Hid main and regular auxiliary (spot, fog, cloud, filtering lights) you can of course fit Hid to the auxiliaries and some bigger bikes have both by mounting top and bottom

Good luck on your choice :thumb

reversing is a bitch on the bike :blast

That's a very big question! What kind of spots do you want?

standard Halogen would suffice. HID would, I suppose, be better but don't want to break the bank.

Quite the look of thebTwalcom kit. Are they a effective and robust contender?
