Put her all back together again (1150gs) and this little rubber jobbie is lying on garage floor :blast
Can anyone identify it for me please ?

Looks like it fits in the frame somewhere for the wiring or brake lines to go through ?

Checked rear brake and is not from there. Agree it must be something for wires to pass through, but where ?

Could be just spare? And there is 2 rubber grommets on rear caliper slider, have you got 2 off them on

Think I've worked it out... maybe this one on the frame next to the tank electrical connector in the photo?

What does it do? Looks like nothing routes through it... :nenau

Yes you're right it's not the side panel rubber, hadn't recognised it was that from the photo :blast

Full 12000 mile service, rebuilt TBs, final drive's been off, tidied up a bit of wiring under the instruments. That's all.

I'm sure it must be somewhere on frame as there is rust colouration in the 'crack' of the rubber IYKWIM :D

It cold be of clutch cable where meets lever, not sure is yours cable or hydraulic ?

Hydraulic, not sure where you mean but haven't been near the clutch lever.

Had the starter motor off too, but not sure that helps.

Bit of a mystery.

Thanks all for replies.

My bad I thought it's cable clutch, anyhow I stick with rear caliper . When find out let us know

Looking at it that groove/ recess in the middle must sit in the frame somewhere ? Either a hole or a u shaped cut that is a similar width ( obviously ) to the recess in the grommet. Can only be wiring loom ? Brake line ? Fuel line or cables surely ?
It's getting on my chuff now and it isn't even my bike !

I'll strip my GS down until I find it..:blast

Steptoe will know but he's been stuffing cake all day so is beached .,

Is it a lost part that got dislodged somehow?
Noticed the cover on the front wishbone bearing was missing on my bike...it defiantly had one when I bought it. Fitted a new one then when I removed the tank a while ago to do the fuel filter there it was, wedged in behind the wiring loom. Just a thought :nenau

Is it in two separate parts ?

The "bottom half" looks like one part of the two part petrol tank mounting bush where the tank is bolted to the frame.

Not sure what/where the top part is from.
