Can you only use Denali spotlights through a cansmart, if not can anyone recommend cheaper alternative lamps? Thanks.

You can use 2 pin/wire only spotlights (you can buy the connectors to link with the Cansmart devices - hex or denali), but then you do not get the ability to change brightness IIRC as the 3rd wire is the PWM controller (for those type of lights with variable brightness). So any lights on the Bike would be at full brightness all the time.

You can have a lower brightness on dipped and then go full brightness on main still with only twin wired spot lights. All depends how you program the Cansmart.

Thats incorrect,

I have 2 wire led units from ebay

I just press and hold the Info button ( TC) until the spots flash, then i can adjust the brightness in 10 steps - fully on to fully off

on the LC i could do the same, but the trigger button eludes me atm

its good to hear the 2 wire/pin lights do allow for adjustment of brightness.

If you want spotlights merely for visibility to other road users you could consider Weiser. Ive recently replaced the multi function indicators on my 22 GS & they are a pretty easy fit, no Cansmart etc required, & are very bright.

I have recently bought Colights , about £90 pair delivered. Great quality, look great. You will need to buy wiring tails from Denali, but only a few quid. I am by no means a wiring expert, but found fitting really easy wiring up to Cansmart.

Thanks for your reply.
I actually emailed Colight in America yesterday to see if they ship to the UK as I can't find them for sale in the UK. Where did you buy yours from?

Aliexpress... Spots, wiring, relay and handle bar switch, less than 40 quid delivered, same fitting as BMW spots, really simple to install direct from the battery, ( no can smart required) and independent on/off..... What more do you need.??

They're more expensive than Denali & I didn't think that was possible!!!!!
