I wouldn't do it. I had spots fitted to my Wunderlich bars, and the vibration was too much. Frequently blew the bulbs, and then sheared the mounting brackets.

Wherever you fit them you want an "Auto Switch" from Nippy Norman. Uses the indicator cancel button to operate the relay. There are two types that can work together if needed: one that activates when you press and hold the button and one that activates when you press twice quickly.
I have my Hellas manually switched this way but I also have them wired into the main beam circuit so that in the day time if you need to flash someone the main & the hellas come on together(you will need a diode for this). Not even car drivers can mistake that you are flasing them! :D

If you mount spots on engine bars they will get covered in sh1t on a mucky day, like every day here, muck is thrown back from front wheel and renders dem useless in a very short time.
Try and mount dem higher if you can, out of the line of fire! :thumb

I've had a pair of FF50's on my Wunderlich engine-bars for over 2-years now and the bulbs have been fine (I did rubber mount the lamps with rubber washers though). These are used to help on dipped beam and a second pair (on a Migsel light-bar) supplement high beam.
The engine-bar set only come on with dip and the Migsel pair only come on with high so there is never more than 110W of aux lights on and of course there is an over-ride switch (and dash mounted warning-lamp) so they don't have to come on at all.
The lower ones do pick up slightly more dirt but to be perfectly honest I always give the lenses a wipe anyway.

Pros and cons of mounting to the Wunderlich bars; I had fogs fitted there for over 2 years of use and a abuse and replaced 1 bulb. It is hardly suprising that hot lenses will shatter in cold water. Fog lamps mouted back that far and low give an excellent spread of light especially on dark corners where you always seem to be turning into light (I had spots on a light bar under the beak for straight ahead stuff).
The down side and it is a down side is that the get caked in crap very quickly.
