Spotted this near Sheffield - R100GS

I've just dropped on an 89 R80GS in good mechanical fettle but slightly cosmetically challenged ....from Sheffield.

I’m interested to know what you thought it might go for?
There's irony - at one point I was going to ring and ask what you thought of the bike!
A variety of reasons why my limit was exceeded quite quickly, some personal and some down to circumstances of the sale. The latter included the lack of V5 and better info about condition of the bike and how/why it was parked up. Pics not very useful so viewing would have been the best option - but not possible. The seller - aka 'the bike butcher' - was not very forthcoming. The upsides were that the mileage was likely very low and rust / damage (probably) only superficial. Also, for me at least, the missing bits would have been irrelevant. All in all, worth a punt. I was hoping for £1500, might have gone a bit more (as you do...) but I think it was £1625 just before the last minute flurry so didn't get involved - especially as I suspected it might go higher...

I’d been looking for a para donor for quite a while,
This one ticked all the boxes for me,and it was fairly local so I went in hard with a high bid of £2.5 k
Needless to say I was very happy with what I paid.
Even more so now it’s stripped.
Under all of the muck and Shiite it’s a new bike, there is no wear anywhere.:D
Note the lack of clutch dust:bow

Nice! I wouldn't have got anywhere close to £2.5 so good work. Lack of wear corroborated by the MoT history which suggests the bike was only on the road for a year or so - barely had time to be run in... Be good to see it on the road wiithout all that white and yellow crap on it - looked like it had been in an explosion on a paint factory

Nice picture and location Steve…

Hi Martin, only found this by chance last month when taking a NIKEN for a test ride.
