Decided to work on my road riding mojo today
Think I've cracked it
..................lovely 96 mile ride in Yorkshire's finest National Park, on a 1150GSA
The weather was simply stunning, with warm sunshine
Spring has sprung and it was all dandelion verges and cherry blossom villages, headed out from home towards Masham, via Thornton Watlass, Burrill towards Crakehall on roads less travelled
Cherry blossom on Crakehall Green
Fuelled up @ Leyburn and spotted this Velo and Vincent.............fine day for blowing the cobwebs from your classic steed
I took the road over the tank ranges that lead to Grinton Moor, a short stretch of favourite road
Lunch was @ Reeth, a very pretty Swaledale village..........unfortunately many others thought so too today
Reeth looking towards Fremington Edge (some good trails up there)
The Green @ Reeth - impromptu classic car gathering
Spotted this Lotus Twin Cam Mk1 Escort - very nice
More riding to be done, so up to Arkengarthdale
Looking back towards Fremington
A few miles out of Reeth, I spotted this Camper.................it had to be German
High Arkengarthdale
Bowes Moor, with the A66 Trans Pennine Route, away in the distance
Nice....................isn't she
The famous Tan Hill Inn, with Bowes Moor as a fabulous backdrop
Dropping down towards Swaledale again and this is the very start of Swaledale, my favourite of all the Dales
A simple memorial to 4 men of the village, lost in the Great War, set in a dry stone wall @ Keld - which is a very small hamlet of about 8-10 houses only and all sheep farming.
What made it even more poignant, of those 4 men lost..... was that their successors still lived and worked in the community, the Clarkson farm was behind me and this is the sign to Rukin's place
Swaledale again, from Buttertubs
Buttertubs Pass............. proper
I stopped in Hawes for a mooch and an ice-cream, spotted this bizarre 12GSA rider - who found the need to wear floppy pussy-cat ears on his Helmet, what's that all about?
Homeward bound, stopping off at Middleham (twinned with Agincourt) to look at the Castle, once home to the King of England..............Richard the 3rd

A grand day out
