ok got a question, my forks have got marzo shiver internals but are still a bit lacking, has anyone put a thicker fork oil or increased the volume of oil to make them firmer? did it once on a yam xt with good results. thanks in advance.

Mine are still on the same oil they came with.... I have never changed it in 45,000 miles. Is it an easy job?yeah....relatively easy. get forks on the bench undo the top nut tip upside-down drain out the oil and refill.

Not easy then.... how do I support the bike? Where is the bench? I have to do it at the side of the road....
I used one of those Draper scissor stand thingys - winds up with a 22mm spanner and then remove front wheel, remove forks etc. Wind down the scissor stand to a lower level where its very stable. https://www.drapertools.com/product/04991/motorcycle-scissor-stand-with-pad-450kg/
Think you can get them for well under £100 if you shop around.
I will take it to my friend Andy and ply him with tea and biscuits, then it will be good for another 15 years!

Yes after cleaning all the *** out; I found that it was a bit better but a long way from proper suspension so, went to a pro for cartridges and full rebuild front and rear. Best decision ever.
