Took the opportunity to skive off and enjoy the Spring Sun for a few hours today

Decided to have a run up to Leyburn for a spot of lunch and take in a few lanes on the way

Not long before I came across a fallen tree, luckily there was just enough room to squeeze under

Amaizing scenery :)

After a quick fuel up in Masham at Wensleydale Garage, I climbed up onto the Grouse Moors of Nidderdale

Views were stunning

Really pleased with my bike

Time for lunch, from a Trials riding Baker..................in Leyburn, a ham roll and some shortbread whilst sat in the square enjoying the first warm sun of Spring

Just enough room to take home, 2 Yorkshire Fat Rascals

Nice few hours and good to be back out on the bike

Grand looking XR 400 and them fat rascals:drool

Best thing about midweek, there's no one around:D Nice one JB only slightly envious of that XR.
All we need now is for Franco to start teasing us with South of France, Alps Pass roads:rolleyes:

Cloud, sun and blue sky makes for some great views :thumb

I noticed the yellow TDF signs are starting to appear. Enjoy the solitude while you can ;)

So it's your fault it's damp, grey and murky this morning - all 'cos you mentioned the S word (Spring & Sunshine) :P

Looks like a lovely, lovely ride - you've got some nice trails up your way!

Andres

Good one JB but you should've come out with Rick and I on Wednesday and found out what its like squeezing under fallen trees when there's not enough room for your bars.
I snapped my gear lever off getting under one :(

Sorry to hear that, I think I'll take the chainsaw out up that one as it's only a small hawthorn and is not far from the road

Good couple of hours in nice open countryside - I prefer trails like these with stunning views

Nice one, JB.:thumb Now you've mention the S words, snow will be here soon.:blast:D

:P

Spring officially starts at the equinox, weeks away yet. Looks like you had a good day, I think that you must have needed it. :beerjug:

Nice little report.....Now tell us where we can all buy (what appears to be) a brand new XR 400 ?.....   :thumb2

Nice pics, thanx for posting.
Any reason you chose the Honda over a different brand?

BMW don't make anything similar anymore

So why a Honda?

I've had loads of XR's over the years and I like them, simple and aircooled with a kickstart to remind you of how bikes used to be:D

Not as fancy as some more exotic enduro bikes, but I like to trail ride not enduro and it has a comfy seat, not an enduro plank

It has road gearing at present, which is ok for most trails and yesterday I managed to see 90mph on the road .... on the clocks - so not too shabby and feels relaxed at 60-70mph - unlike a lot of enduro bikes

Sorry, I don't have the answer, but there was on ebay this week with 500 miles less than this one for £3500

This one was owned by a good mate from new and he hardly used it .................1000 miles on the clock

Looked like a good time was had JB :beerjug:

Did a Johnny today

Sun's shining and the suspension needs testing so.......
