I have ordered a new DID 520VX2 chain for SWMBO's 2000 F650GS after I found it had a few stiff joints in the existing one. I tried boiling it in diesel but all that did was fill the garage with smoke, do not go to the loo and read interesting articles while doing this.
But what I would like the collective wisdom on is the state of the sprockets. I see they have been replaced at sometime in the bikes 113000km life as it has a JT 16 front and 47 rear.
Here are the photos I took today.

Thanks

Rear looks ok but the front is hooked. Personally I always change chain and sprockets as a set.

Change the front sprocket regular, the rear will last a lot longer and a good chain will last a very long time....

Thanks for the help guys.
I have ordered a new set of JT sprockets from Amazon.
Going to give a 15 t front a try.
And have a DID 520 VX2 chain on its way locally.
To think this all started after I gave it an oil change and noticed the mess around the base of the shock!

Thanks
Adrian

New parts including waves front disc and pads are now fitted. Went for a bumble yesterday and the difference in her riding ability was amazing. Keeping up with me on my 1150GS no problem and all done with a big grin on her face. She says it's like riding a news bike.
Looks like I got that one right:D
