Squeak

Hi,

I don't know if this is standard option on the R1150GS, but when I accelerate, first gear, and then use the engine brake you hear a squeaky sound from the front. I think it is from the front suspension/chassis when the bike “dives” after the pitch during the acceleration. Is this common or is it something I need to correct?

My bike does a very audible squeek and clunk when I take off in 1st gear. Apparently it's the ABS checking thingy. Doesn't sound like what you're describing but it's just a thought.

yeah I know exactly what you mean - my (non-ABS) does it as well, pulling away hard or braking hard. It eases off on longer journeys. I put it simply down to the forks extending/compressing past their 'normal' gamut and squeaking a bit. I haven't been too concerned about it up til now - I hope I don't need to start worrying!

Is common for the bottom shock rubber bush to need cleaning and re- lubing...5 min job.
