Hello once again. So I did the right honourable thing and ordered a Galfer SS brake line for the front of me beloved R100GS. It would appear, going forward, one needs internet purchases vetted by a good lawyer:mad: This line does not go from master cyl. to caliper, it only goes to the short line at the low fender. Of course this is not stated anywhere in the literature. My short line is MIA.
Does anybody know which brand provides 100% satisfaction?:thumb2

HI

As far as I know (happy to be proven incorrect) none of the aftermarket OEM replacements do - they all go to the short pipe (as they are just that - OEM replacements i.e. like for like). Generally it isnt recomended that you delete the short line (I think on safety grounds, but TBH in practice I am not sure it makes much of a difference :nenau) so you may have to go off piste as it were, or get one made up locally.

When I replaced mine with SS braided, the supplier (BaMW who no longer currently now offer spare parts) supplied me with another short pipe, so this might be an option. Failing that, any motor shop can knock up a simple brake pipe, only needs a flaring tool and a couple of unions its no biggie really.

That said, someone on here probably knows of xx pipe off a xxx model Honda or whatever that bolts straight on.....

Thanks. I looked at SpieglerUSA this morning, they offer 2 lines one to the pipe the other to the caliper. The Galfer line appears long enough to reach the caliper and have found a male/male fitting so this might work out after all. Disappointing that vital info is missing and/or incorrect on websites. Always expensive snafus. Surely I'm not the only one who suffers this.

I put 2 help lines on the front of my rt and got rid of the short Hose.
Straight from master cylinder down too each calliper works a treat

My local hydraulics shop has just been certified to make automotive brake lines. Haven't tried them yet. Is this an option elsewhere?

Anyone can make automotive brake lines over here, you just need the tools to do it. No certification (or training) required.....

No special tools required, just a couple of spanners.
Buy the braided hose and fittings from Think automotive, Venhill, Ebay etc. etc.
Easy way to cut the braided line is wrap masking tape around the cut point and use a 1mm slitting disc to cut it.
