Any SS Tossers live in Inverness or further North? Caithness? Sutherland?

I see a lot of GS's in the Summer touring around...but none appear to be 'local' bikes.

There's another 800GS kicking about in Caithness, but I haven't spoke to the guy yet. Any more?

Well, thats two of us then, Yellow 1150GS living in Ullapool. I was out last week and not another GS in sight up here (though I did see a brave soul on 1200 GSA negotiating the Kessock bridge last Friday).

Well, that's two of us then!

Greetings, Fellow Far Norther.:thumb2
I wonder if we'll get any more 'confessing'? I was speaking to the guys at Calterdon BMW Invernesh a couple of weeks ago about sales figures for the 800GS - they said they were 'selling well'.

There must be a lot hiding away for the winter.........

Are you around for the SS bash in Ullapool, in June?

No really :augie

There's just no many that'll admit to coming frae Wick :blast

I'm up in Caithness about 4 times a year, but stick to the Thurso-side more :augie

Without a doubt! Looking forwards to meeting up with everyone. Hopefully get some decent winter rideouts before then-'ave they got t' christmas lights switched on yet at JOG?

Ditto regarding winter rides.

As for Christmas lights in JOG...the only light in JOG between September and Easter is the lighthouse at Duncansby Head......

Wick's looking nice though.

Do you come up to visit Thurso's main attraction...a partially demolished nuclear reactor?

Usually, but the first time I went up there - I thought the reactor had blown up!

It'll make a pleasant change from the old Pentalina. Now, if the boys on the car deck can just be persuaded not to strap my bike down with a single 2 inch ratchet strap that bends the seat up like buggery, and puts a loading on the sidestand that I'm bloody sure it was never engineered to deal with, it'll be a fantastic improvement. I live in Orkney, btw  so I guess I qualify as a northerner.....

The new ferries here!:bounce1

Rumpo I've had a word with Big Mike at the Gills Bay Ferry about strapping your bike down - his answer was and I quote: "Feck Off".

I'm going to get across to Orkney for a few days this Summer, we'll have to have a pint somewhere.

Funny thing, Klanky; I know a couple of boys on there and they said much the same thing..... must be telepathy.

If you're over here, give a holler. Two-wheeled visitors always welcome. At the moment - given the Dear Leader's efforts with the currency - next year's tour to France, Germany and the Czech Republic is looking increasingly like a few flits over the Firth now and then and maybe a week or so's run down to the South West (where I haven't been in years) so I'll be sampling the delights of the new Pentalina quite frequently.

The bike-fastening arrangements on Northlink are a little more sympathetic to the bike but I resent being expected to present Photo i.d. to get on their bloody boat. Stasi. :blagblah

Another GSer here from Caithness. The keeper of a black, mud and rust coloured 1150, often heading into the dark side of the county (Wick) :) cos of Weatherspoons, AMS (good dealer) and a large Tesco. Oh, and its an excuse for a ride - as if one is needed :)

At the Bike show today, I was talking to a 1200 owner from Thurso.
I myself used to live there and work at Dounreay, and from all the bullshit written in newspapers over the years about the nuke industry, I have no need for Hids as I glow in the dark.:mmmm

Which company runs the Ferry service as I fancy a trip over to Orkney later in the Spring:thumb

Actually, I was going to start a thread entitled 'Whose Is The Manky GS in Tescos, Wick?', but you've answered that question for me.......:D
We'll have to meet up for a run sometime.:thumb2
