Stainlee steel nuts and bolts

Vern

Thanks for the swift delivery - fitted just now (in the rain again!) and they are the business - great.

Any chance for disk retaining bolts F & R and rear brake bolts - infact all the rest if you can manage.

Thanks again

Steve C-G

c-g,glad you got your bolts alright.I've got some really nice stainless button heads to do the discs with, but I don't know how strong the original ones are. once I find that out,I'll be go on that as well. I'm trying to build up a kit a bit at a time, but you wouldn't believe how much it cost's to put a deal like this together. If I sell all off the stock I had to order to get them at that price,I'll just about break even. It's the same with the panniers, I'm well out of pocket on that at the moment, but I think as more people see them then I might claw something back on them.As for the exhaust,I've still got a load of s/s bends and tube I ordered for that, but once you make something, nobody seems to want it.Funny old world.
I'll keep you posted about nut's and bolts.

Vern, Got mine during the week. Thanks for the swift action. Not fitted them yet but I'm sure they wiil look good.

Vern,

the M & P catalogue lists the high tensile steel bolts as having a yield stress (?) of 40 ton ft/in sq, while the normal Mr Fast'ner stainless steel bolts they sell have a yield stress of 29.1 ton ft/in sq.

They do some special stainless steel disc bolts with a yield stress of 44.1 ton ft/in sq, which is stronger than the high tensile steel.

They don't seem to list any prices for these though.

Hope this helps.

Steve.

The last time I saw they were selling them,I think they were £6 each.I larfed until I stopped. I can get specials made for that, robbing barsterds

Vern, TOP MAN!, Posted my cheque on Monday, must have got to you on Tuesday and on Wednesday they arrived!!.
Bloody good service, bloody good bolts!.
Thanks for the speedy sevice Vern, That's a pint I owe you when we meet.
With all these pints your due to collect, you are in danger of the dreaded alcoholic poisoning!

Many thanks:beer:

Vern, what would be very useful would be stainless brake pins, both front and back. also footrest pivot pins.. Since you obviously have the machining ability and source of material.. I would pay you a weeks beer money for a set of these.

Phill, I don't know what all the fuss is about. All I try to do is give people the service I like to have, it's just they're not used to having it, that's all. Did the pinch bolts and rear caliper bolts fit alright, or have I got to go back to the drawing board with them. Glad you're happy any hoo:D
Dennis, that's a brave thing to say, you obviously have no idea of my capacity for beer, I don't think you could afford it. Anyway, I'm miles ahead of you on that one, it's all down to time/money/nice day, bollox to this I'm going for a ride sort of thing. But as soon as I can, they'll be one of the next things to do.

Yo Vern,

Any news on some disc bolts? Here's what I'm after, hope you can help:

Caliper bolts (front & rear)
Caliper mounting bolts (front & rear)
Disc mounting bolts
ABS ring mounting bolts
Front engine cover bolts

How much for that lot?

When you get round to it, some brake pad mounting parts would be nice

Cheers,

Two items in the post today.

1) Visa bill. Pisser
2) Stainless bolts. Thanks

Tim

Stainless Steel Kit

I fitted a stainless steel bolt kit from Motorworks to my 1100 GS (55,000 miles hard use) smartened it up a treat-what's in it? Virtually everything-about the only bolts that aren't replaced are those holding the wheel's on. It comes with the a checklist for all the parts - and each "section" coded and bagged seperately to aid fitting-excellent-cost about £160 from memory-but you could check the MWorks site for current price;)

"All that is required for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing..."

That's what I've been waiting for. Can I have a copy of the list pleeeeeeeeze. £160 still sounds expensive for a load of nuts and bolts.

Caliper pins

Vern,

is it possible that you could make up a set of the pad retaining pins, as I bought a set yesterday and they wanted 'bout 6 beer tokens each for 'em, i mean they are only bits of galv. rod with a clip on one end and a 'lil hole in the other, I can clock em up and send you a drawing if it's a goer

Brake pins

On the list already, I'm trying to sort out quite a few things all at the same time.Bear with me if you can,I'm only me and it's been sunny. It's all about priorities, and sunny days win hands down.

No more nuts and bolts at the moment

I'm all out of nuts and bolts at the moment, so if you want still want some, keep an eye on this space. Let me know here if you're still interested

stainless fasteners

I have an 1100GS and would like to buy whatever Stainless fastenings are available at a reasonable price

Hi Vern ... how's the 'kit' comin along?

I'm interested in some for me Adventure ...

..what's available at the moment?

Ta
What SPC don't sell 'em? Surely that can't be the case. I reckon you should pop down and have a look, maybe try a few for size? Must've been ages since you were last there ;)

Charlie,at the moment,I haven't got a spare minute to sort out more nuts and bolts,I'm slowly building a pannier mountain for the few people who ordered them,so all my time is spent doing that at the moment. But fear not, there will be more in the shed soon.
:D

Hi Judge .. do ya get any time to work?:D

...actually been ages since i went to SPC .... last saturday in fact:p

..sadly i don't have the time to troll through everything on the board ... so some things of interest get missed ...

..that's not to say, of course, that spc's 'bolts (if they have them) wouldn't be a 'tad' more expensive than Verns!!!
