Having seen Motorworks do a Stainless steel spoke kit for the GS at £39 + vat, I rang a spoked wheel building company in Salisbury ( www.brickwood.co.uk) to find out what they might charge to do the wheel rebuild.

They quoted £50 a wheel + vat and said it was a bugger of a job.

So approx £160 all in to have your GS wheels rebuilt with stainless spokes. Perhaps not.

going down the anodising route also. thought of dark grey/silver to hide the dirt better than black.

is that rims & spokes or just rims ?

how much does it cost ?

My understanding is that stainless spokes are weaker (had them on my F650 and had to replace a good number!) and that is why they are not OEM on the GS.

Spokes on my 1150 are chromed - or have they cut back on recent models?

I get the impression a lot of wheelbuilders don't like doing them:)

brickwood weren't interested when i last rang them. too much grief.

devon rim seemed much keener + they get more practise being down the road from sherlocks apparently :)
