Staintune exhaust system for HP2 out mid July 06

staintune

thanks for getting back to me. Now here's a thought, You see im wondering whether it just the headers and the lack of cat that free up the power or does the muffler help to a large extent. Because if this is the case, i might just buy the header and try it out with the oem muffler. Staintune are only down the road from me so if the muffler was required i could get it easily.

I'm not sure which bit of the system works to increase the power. I've fitted end cans to other bikes and after fitting them the only difference I noticed was the sound. With this system though, the power increase was noticeable straight away. When I went for a spin after fitting it I wacked the throttle open through the gears and it came straight up in third. The bike has loads more torque - really noticeable.

I think the Staintune header pipes use a bigger diameter ( but not 100% sure as I didn't measure them ). I'll measure the stock pipes and post what size they are and maybe you can e-mail Staintune to find out their dimensions. I'd say the stock BMW end can is lighter than the Staintune end can but the Staintune headers are lighter than the BMW headers. Unfortunately I didn't weigh the systems or get a before/after dyno but using the Staintune system, there is a definate improvement to the performance of the HP2. I'm having a power commander fitted soon, so I'll let you know how that works out when it's all done :thumb

PS: this is tickle here - just using my missus pc

very cool ta for the info, power comander hey, whats the stats on that, sounds like im going to be doing the same, can never have to much get up and go, as long as reliability is not effected. Seems the bm road bikes comfortably get 130 so cant see why the hp2 should miss out. My bike is still on the ship comming from singapore. Then straight to service and the install of new ohlins and springs in the front

... i'm still waiting for the parts to arrive ( i'm also having WP front and rear suspension fitted at the same time )... hopefully another week or so and it'll be here.

There's some info on the ECM module i'm having fitted here http://www.rapid-gb.co.uk/rapidbike3.php. I'm having the Rapid Bike 3 model fitted ( RB3 ).

It increases the rev limit by an extra 500RPM, adjusts the fuel/air mixture and lets the ignition timing be altered which is why I decided to go for this unit over a powercommander. I'm planning on fitting two Wunderlich camshafts some time in the future & it seems more can be done with this system in comparison to the powercommander.

I had a dyno run before fitting it http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77119&page=2, so it's going to be interesting to see what difference it makes.
