Stalling F800gs. But not the usual issue.

Hello, seems I have developed an issue with stalling. Bike starts when stand is up but when shifting from neutral to 1st it stalls. If I shift it from neutral into 2nd it doesn't stall and will be fine from neutral to 1st for the remainder of the ride . Also the bike will stall sometimes when moving at speed during shifting up the gears. Not sure if its an issue withe the side stand switch or maybe another internal switch. Any help would be great.

It does sound like a side stand micro switch issue. They are tiny and fragile looking with about 2mm operating range from open to closed. Take it off, clean it with wd40 and reinstall making sure the connectors and wires are sound and it operates when the stand is extended.

You could try bypassing it with a wire to eliminate it as a suspect.

 

[Blue Sweeper]

Connecting the white and brown wire together on the side stand switch bypasses it and so eliminates the suspect switch.
