Ok I have an 07 Hp, my plan is to try to fit a standard 1200 gs rear spring.
this would be for long tours with luggage to take the worry out of blowing the air damper. has anyone tried this or knows of any problems etc.
I got a standard suspension unit off ebay for 30 quid so not too worried about messing about with it.

I am guessing...

...but that may be far too short for the HP. Standard Rear shock travel on GS12 is about 6 inches...HP is around 10...you may be riding down the road with the front end pointed up.

Let us know...

cheers,

Jason

will keep you informed

ok so far, when the bike is at rest unladen, the air shok is about the same length as the spring unit. i realise i will get less actual travel but this is not a problem as the fit is for touring with lugage so back end needs to be prety firm. i will be fitting it in next few weeks and going for a test ride with and without luggage. I will keep you informed.... if i live!!

Just in case it doesn't work out - I've used my HP2 for touring two and fully loaded on the airshock and the bike did fine.
