Got GSA and short legs, already has lowered springs but still only 1 foot flat on ground!
Anyone got a std seat I can borrow to see if it makes a real difference before having to sell my tenth kidney on ebay?

I am in Lincs but happy to bimble over within reason!

A standard seat won't make a difference,
I can only get one foot flat on the deck with a Sargent low seat, not a prob though!:ronno

The std seat does make a difference, I am not sure how much but would guess 20mm or maybe more.

I am in Southampton so probably too far away but someone with a std 1200 must be happy to give you a loan for 10 minutes.

I'm on my second GSA - the first I had the OE seat lowered by Tony Archer - great job - the present one I have a standard GS seat and this works just as well.

I'm at Bakewell in Derbyshire - your welcome to have a try anytime :thumb2

One foot's enough. Keep it on the floor and at least you won't get pregnant.

Seroiusly though, you'll soon get used to it.

I think I should point out, for the sake of Health and Safety, and the safety of other road users......

......that you should NEVER try to have sex whilst trying to ride a Gs Adventure!! :augie

I have standard seats on an Adventure as the pillion seat is better on the standard bike. But, to answer your question the standard seat on the high position is exactly the same as the Adventure seat in the low position so you can gain the 20mm difference by using the standard seat in the low position.

Why not nip down to your local dealer and try the options out? You could always go for the low seat which gives another 20mm or so giving you 40mm over the adventure seat in the low position.

If you know what I mean.....

Dave

Standard seat is more comfortable than the GSA seat IMHO.

Must admit this is not my first GS12 (try 5th!!) and am not sure on which is more comfortable. GSA appears to be wider at the front. What I am hoping to achieve is being able to have the front raised and the back on low setting to alleviate the slide forward. WIth Adventure seat thia is just tooo tall for absolute peace fo mind.
